MORE PICS FROM DENVER

I recently went to Denver to prep for the EHF show coming up there and to visit with my great friend and AMAZING artist Scot Lefavor. This is my favorite picture of us. What a fun trip! Thank you Alex!

This is the best spot I have ever put a poster. It's really weathered, and you can't see it in this picture, but an old OBEY poster hung here a long time ago. SUPER FUN!

New baby in La Familia!

I rescued my third city animal. In the past i saved, a baby squirrel and a baby bird. I have to feed this one every 45 min. The noise it makes when it's full and wants to sleep again is so so cute! Found him walking Hip to the metro around 4. Went back with my Friend UNJUANTED who is father to all animals and saved him around ten. He was still there, yelling for help. Now he is safe from traffic and has a full belly.

Go eat at one of my FAIV restaurants, Lauriol Plaza, look across the street and see the new DECOY poster. Lets see how long it stays- tortured souls.

More in Denver

My buddy Scot Lefavor said going to the Denver Art Museum was a must. We all agreed. My first thought, Mark Jenkins should do a installation here on the museum roof. Two, I want to marry Sandy Skoglund.

Being inside this installation was incredible. I went threw it about five times. It is amazing how everything is the exact same color, and everything has texture but still seems so smooth. Nothing is shinny. It's amazing how she creates a space for your whole body to take in. And the space she creates for you is so strange and different than anywhere you've ever been or see, it really is a neat experience.

So glad I got to see it!

I LOVE DENVER

Cory Oberndorfer and DECOY paint together for HRC

For the past three weeks, Cory Oberndorfer and DECOY have been working on a 7 foot by 14 foot painting with the HRC. Philippa Hughes had gotten us the most amazing space to paint in up on 14th and Florida.

I did the background while Cory added the figures in the foreground. The background is a recreation of the wall paper my grandma had in her bathroom while I was growing up. If asked, some would refer to the wall paper as 'horrible'. My aunt jokes that her and grandma were tipsy the day they picked it out. It was shiny silver with butterflies randomly flying around. The bathroom was long and narrow. The wall paper filled the whole room. I looked forward to seeing it every time we visited. I always thought it was such a fun room.

Reggie Watts, please come to DC soon...

Came back from DENVER and HIP took RELAX and I out to the PEACHES show at 930 club. super super super awesome show.

So pumped from the Peaches show, RELAX and I decided to look up and travel to the next closest REGGIE WATTS performance. A little bummed to find nothing planned soon, we tried to take matters into our own hands. In the mean time, I try and not play songs with more swear words than my mom would like, but this song tops the charts and can't be ignored.

Reggie, please come to DC soon!

Painting project for the HRC

I've been working on a project with Pink Line and the HRC. 4 artist to paint 2 7 foot by 14 foot canvases.

I'm recreating the wallpaper from my Grandma's bathroom for the background. Its been pretty awesome.

P got us this amazing space to paint in up on 14th and FLorida. I'm used to making really large things in really small spaces.
It has been HEAVEN to work in! I made all my posters for Colorado there, pretty big!

Peter and quest are working on a piece together....

And of course, the love of my life, My Bike.

TRUE BEAUTY photo shoot

Last night I had my solo photo shoot for a project I've been working on with my friend Richard Chu. Here are some of my favorite from the night. This is Maria. She works at the laundry mat across the street from the Black Cat on 14th st. My building doesn't have laundry on site, so I go down the street to her. We've become buddies over the years. She met my mom once while she was in town. Every time I see her she asks me about my mom and says to tell her Maria says hi. I do every time.

I LOVE Snoop. If I could meet anyone in the world, I think it'd be him. This is a pic of Snoop I have hanging in my bathroom. This picture says a lot about me and my personality.

I collect things about Mary. The small things that I find cheap, I sometimes let my friends draw on. This was one of DEBT's additions to a small statue.

More at the laundry mat.

This is in my studio. I was showing them the posters I'm bringing to Colorado. This poster is one about Davy Rothbart of FOUND magazine.

We went out on a walk around my neighborhood. I brought some chalk. Me doing what I do best.
